Mandate
Cultural tokens are not securities and we do not treat them as such. They are durable, signable records of cultural moments — an in-joke, a tribute, a banner. Osage Meme makes the minting, trading, and discovery of these records honest: provenance is on chain, rules are published in advance, and the surface does not pretend that a meme is an investment.
How it works
- Identity-gated through Osage ID; no anonymous mints.
- Settlement on Osage Network; canonical on-chain provenance for every token.
- Per-jurisdiction filter; tokens that would be regulated as securities under the user’s jurisdiction are not offered.
- Royalty splits enforceable at the protocol; no opaque pass-through to undisclosed parties.
- Editorial discoverability through Osage Media when a token rises to cultural relevance.
What we keep on the record
- Provenance. First mint, all subsequent transfers, signed by both sides.
- Rules. The full rules at the time of mint — including any post-mint actions the creator reserved.
- Royalty paths. Where revenue from secondary trades flows; published per-token.
- Editorial entries. Where Osage Media has written about the token, the entry is linked from the token’s page.
What we will not do
Sell tokens as investments. Run pumps or coordinated marketing for any token. List tokens whose stated rules contradict their on-chain rules. Hide royalty paths from buyers. Anything our compliance committee or general counsel will not put a name to.
